Nicholas' musical COAL is one of the Lucille Lortel Theatre's inaugural 121 Project recipients. The Lortel selected COAL from over 175 submissions and supported a series of music work sessions with some of Broadway's best performers. [Lortel Website] [YouTube]

COAL is featured in the Dramatists Guild Fellows' Showcase on March 25th @ Playwrights Horizons [BroadwayWorld]

Nicholas was a Finalist for the Ed Kleban Prize for Lyric Writing and the 2023 Jonathan Larson Grant for Musical Theatre Writing. ​

October 27th,2023

Songs from Nicholas' new musical COAL were featured in the 2023 NAMT Festival Songwriter Showcase at New World Stages.

Nicholas is an Artist-in-Residence at both New York Stage & Film and The BringAbout's Kingston Residency.

April 26th,2023

Nicholas orchestrated a concert for the White House State Dinner, where President Biden and Dr. Biden hosted South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol. Lea Salonga, Norm Lewis, and Jessica Vosk performed for the first families and distinguished guests.

March 13th, 2023

BROADWAY BACKWARDS returns to the New Amsterdam theatre and raises $765,069 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids. Nicholas was the co-Music Director for the concert and Supervising Orchestrator. ​

Nicholas is named a 2022-23 Dramatists Guild Foundation Fellow (BroadwayWorld)​

Nicholas contributed arrangements and orchestrations to "A Celebration of Lerner & Loewe" on PBS. The televised concert features Broadway stars Jen Colella, Aaron Lazar, Jose Llana and more with the American Pops Orchestra.

Winter 2021

Nicholas contributes orchestrations to several major concerts, including Kristin Chenoweth's Christmas at the Met, Jessica Vosk's Carnegie Hall debut, and the American Pops New Year's special "United in Song" on PBS.

CALIFORNIA DREAM, a new single featuring Mean Girls star Kyle Selig, is now available for digital download and streaming, with sales/stream revenue to be donated to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids.

Fall 2019

Nicholas is Associate Music Director for episodes 4 and 7 of the new Disney+ show ENCORE! The Kristin Bell production reunites old friends to recreate their high school plays years later with Broadway creative teams. 

 

November 8-17th, 2019

Nicholas is orchestrator and Associate Music Director for Kristin Chenoweth's Broadway show, FOR THE GIRLS at the Nederlander Theater. The concert features the Broadway star and a series of special guests, with music direction by Mary-Mitchell Campbell.
